Deep Listening workshop

10th June 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

* Open to UAL staff only *

As part of the Listening as method for collaborative and inclusive Creative Curricula Project, a Curriculum Development initiative - academic, administrative, technical and management staff are invited to participate in three intensive Deep Listening workshops to experience the subtleties of acoustic space and reflect on its impact on learning and research at LCC.

Deep Listening is a process created by Pauline Oliveros that is informed by expanding the range of audible forms beyond ordinary sound perceptions in daily life. The practice of Deep Listening is intended to heighten awareness of sound, silence and sounding.
This is a research project led by Ximena Alarcón, in collaboration with Salomé Voegelin and Thomas Gardner, which aims to engage staff and students in Deep Listening practice to enrich participants’ knowledge of listening across disciplines and to incorporate this practice in the curricula.
The workshops will take place in the Siobhan Davies Studio on:
3 June, 5-8pm
10 June 10, 6-9pm
17 June, 5-8pm
Participants are required to attend to all the sessions, and places are limited.
If you are interested and can attend the three sessions please sign up to the event.
The sessions will be led by Dr Ximena Alarcón, CRiSAP member and Deep Listening Certificate Holder.
