14 September – 22 November 2018 | 9am – 5pm
_____
Part of the sixth instalment of Sound Reasons Festival, this group exhibition features 14 international sound artists. With a curative focus on the Indian and the Asian Sound Art scene it aims to establish exchanges, with contributions from CRiSAP Director Cathy Lane, CRiSAP member Salomé Voegelin, alongside Venzha Christ, Marcus Maeder, Shun Owada, Arnont Nongyao, Ish S, Suvani Suri, Paul Purgas, Diffused beats, Wicked Mannequins, Bidisha Das, Kaushal Sapre and Dipali Gupta.
The exhibition along with a series of dedicated performance sessions entitled ReINSTALL, will engage with the possibilities of sound and how it has the capabilities to make unseen connections, to hold un-assumed narratives and produce curative and creative tensions.
Expanding the spectrum of the potentiality of sound, these events initiate listening through artistic explorations and inter-media intersections. Featuring works there is an interplay of text, synthesis, video, sampling, narratives along with other creative practices and complex processes. Opening dialogue with other mediums, the festival explores generative possibilities. Listening into the world in order to see what all it could be, to consider the frame of current actuality in order to explore the complexity of its sonic perceptions. This again is a thin slice of the sonic spectrum which reveals not just itself, but also a new sonic world, where the aim is not to just categorise and preserve a soundscape but to illuminate and generate the dynamic and plural possibilities.
