The Sound Arts Visiting Practitioner Series will continue to be held online for the Spring Term. The lectures this will all happen virtually: a mixture of live and pre-recorded sessions with guests appearing for a live Q&A (where available). Join us in our virtual teaching room every Thursday.

How do individuals and communities navigate gendered spaces in sound technology practices? How do we create inclusive sound spaces where trans, non-binary and female identifying students feel supported and able to share skills while studying?

Elaine Mitchener, WOMENS WORK International Women’s Day

Undefinable experimental vocalist, movement artist and composer Elaine Mitchener makes her second appearance this season with WOMENS WORK, its title taken from the pioneering magazine edited by Fluxus artists Alison Knowles and Annea Lockwood in 1975 and 1978, which featured text-based and instructional performance scores by 25 women artists. CRiSAP researchers Irene Revell will giving an introductory broadcast and Louise Marshall has written the event's programme notes.
