Described as “a genre-crossing virtuoso” (Financial Times), Elaine Mitchener is an eclectic and innovative vocal and movement artist who creates and performs across various genres including experimental music theatre/dance, performance art, concerts, recordings and sound installations. Her collaborators include: Irvine Arditti, Deborah Warner, Christian Marclay, Sonia Boyce, Attila Csihar, Dam van Huynh, George Lewis, Alexander Hawkins, Tansy Davies, Phil Minton, Evan Parker, Alasdair Roberts, David Toop, and Jason Yarde. Recent performances include London Contemporary Music Festival, Muenster International Jazz Festival, Cafe Oto, ICA, SPILL, Wysing Arts Festival, 56th Venice Biennale, ULTIMA Contemporary Music festival (Oslo), English National Opera, National Theatre; and presented work at White Cube, Whitechapel Gallery, Weserburg MOMA (Bremen).
