OOR Saloon Sound Art Lecture Series, discussion/presentation of Salomé Voegelin’s The Political Possibility of Sound: Fragments of Listening (Bloomsbury, 2019), followed by a performance by Mollin/Voegelin with Jan Schacher.
Responding to her recently published book of essays, Salomé Voegelin will present a lecture/performance about possibility and sound. Part of Darat al Funun’s 2019 program ‘At The Lab’, which brings together artists and cultural practitioners exploring sound, listening and sonic practices in relation to forms of collective agency, alternative socialities and the emergence of milieus.
This talk by Salome Voegelin forms part of the ‘caféphilosophique strand of the Café Culture 2018–2019 programme. Entitled, Sonic Materialism: How to be a thing according to sound, discussion will consider ideas of new materialism through a sonic sensibility and participation.
