Last September we had the pleasure of being invited to perform at the Soundscapes Late Event at the National Gallery. It was an evening of events in response to the exhibition Soundscapes that featured work by Susan Philipsz, Chris Watson, Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller.
CRiSAP Doctor Iris Garrelfs and PhD student John Kannenberg both delivered performance-lectures throughout the evening, each responding to and exploring soundscapes in relation to the museum.
Listen again to extracts from these performances:
Doctor Iris Garrelfs completed a practice based research PhD with CRiSAP in 2015 titled From inputs to outputs: an investigation of process in sound art practice. Read more about Iris’s research in her research profile.
John Kannenberg is a practice based research PhD student with CRiSAP. His thesis is titled Listening to Museums: Mapping the sonic experience of acoustic objects and performative visitors within resonant galleries. Read more about John's research in his research profile.
