Louise Marshall – Post-doc Fellowship

AHRC TECHNE Innovation fellowship at the Wellcome Collection

Recently completed PhD researcher Louise Marshall has won one of four AHRC TECHNE Innovation fellowships to work at the Wellcome Collection in London for the first six months of 2019. This post-doctoral fellowship will see her working with aspects of Wellcome’s huge collection of artefacts relating to health and bio-medical sciences to create new platforms and networks by which theorists and practitioners in Sound Arts can engage in meaningful dialogues with their scientific counterparts. Aiming to extend discussion of the practice of 'Deep Listening' as conceived by the composer Pauline Oliveros, this fellowship will build upon Marshall's PhD thesis, Deep Listening: The Strategic Practice of Female Experimental Composers post 1945 (UAL, 2018).
